Indian freedom struggle
The Indian freedom struggle was a movement aimed at ending British colonial rule in India. It began in the late 19th century and gained momentum in the early 20th century. Key figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru played significant roles in mobilizing the masses through non-violent protests and civil disobedience.
The struggle involved various methods, including boycotts, strikes, and the famous Salt March in 1930. The movement united people across different regions and communities, ultimately leading to India's independence on August 15, 1947. This marked the end of nearly 200 years of British rule in the country.
