Indian Police Service
The Indian Police Service (IPS) is one of the three All India Services in India, responsible for maintaining law and order across the country. Established in 1948, the IPS plays a crucial role in the Indian police system, ensuring public safety and security. Officers in this service are selected through the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
IPS officers are tasked with various responsibilities, including crime prevention, investigation, and maintaining public peace. They work at different levels, from state police forces to central agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The service is known for its rigorous training and commitment to upholding the law.
