Indian Cobra
The Indian Cobra, also known as the Naja naja, is a venomous snake found primarily in the Indian subcontinent. It is easily recognized by its distinctive hood, which it expands when threatened. This species can grow up to 6 feet long and is typically brown, black, or olive in color, with lighter patterns.
The Indian Cobra plays a significant role in local ecosystems as both a predator and prey. Its diet mainly consists of small mammals, birds, and other reptiles. While its venom is potent and can be dangerous to humans, the snake generally avoids confrontation and will only strike when provoked.
