Incomplete Fractures
Incomplete fractures, also known as partial fractures, occur when a bone cracks but does not break all the way through. This type of fracture is common in children, whose bones are more flexible than those of adults. Incomplete fractures can result from falls, sports injuries, or other trauma.
There are different types of incomplete fractures, including greenstick fractures, where the bone bends and cracks on one side, and torus fractures, which involve a bulging of the bone. Treatment typically involves immobilization with a cast or splint to allow the bone to heal properly.
