Inchmahome Priory
Inchmahome Priory is a historic site located on Inchmahome Island in Lake of Menteith, Scotland. Founded in the 13th century, it was established as a community for Augustinian canons. The priory features well-preserved ruins, including a church and cloister, which reflect the architectural style of the period.
The site is notable for its tranquil setting and scenic views, making it a popular destination for visitors. Inchmahome Priory is also linked to Scottish history, as it is believed that Mary, Queen of Scots sought refuge there during her childhood. Today, it is managed by Historic Environment Scotland.
