Inca treasure
The term "Inca treasure" refers to the vast wealth accumulated by the Inca Empire, which thrived in South America from the early 15th century until the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. This treasure included gold, silver, and precious stones, often used in religious ceremonies and to adorn temples, such as the famous Temple of the Sun in Cusco.
Much of the Inca treasure was lost or hidden during the Spanish conquest, leading to numerous legends and quests for its recovery. Some treasures were reportedly buried or concealed by the Incas to protect them from the Spanish, fueling ongoing interest and exploration in the Andes region.
