Imam Abu Dawood
Imam Abu Dawood was a prominent Islamic scholar and hadith compiler born in 817 CE in Sijistan, present-day Afghanistan. He is best known for his work, Sunan Abu Dawood, which is one of the six major collections of hadith in Sunni Islam. His compilation focuses on the legal aspects of Islamic teachings and includes over 4,800 hadiths.
Abu Dawood traveled extensively throughout the Islamic world, seeking knowledge from various scholars. His rigorous methodology in verifying the authenticity of hadiths has earned him respect among scholars. He passed away in 889 CE in Basra, Iraq, leaving a lasting legacy in Islamic jurisprudence.
