Idul Adha
Idul Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is an important Islamic holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) in obedience to God's command. Instead, God provided a ram to sacrifice, symbolizing mercy and faith.
During Idul Adha, Muslims perform special prayers at mosques and gather for communal celebrations. Families often sacrifice animals, such as sheep or goats, and distribute the meat among family, friends, and those in need. This act emphasizes charity, community, and gratitude, reinforcing the values of compassion and sharing.
