Idriss Déby
Idriss Déby was a Chadian military officer and politician who served as the President of Chad from 1990 until his death in 2021. He came to power after leading a rebellion that overthrew the previous president, Hissène Habré. Déby was known for his strong military background and played a significant role in regional security issues in Central Africa.
During his presidency, Déby faced various challenges, including internal conflicts and economic difficulties. He was often criticized for his authoritarian rule and human rights abuses. Despite this, he maintained support from international allies, particularly in the fight against terrorism in the Sahel region.
