Idrisid dynasty
The Idrisid dynasty was an early Islamic dynasty founded by Idris I, a great-grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. Established in the late 8th century in present-day Morocco, the dynasty played a significant role in the spread of Islam in North Africa. The Idrisids are known for their contributions to the development of Moroccan culture and governance.
The dynasty lasted until the 10th century and was characterized by its efforts to unify various tribes and regions under Islamic rule. The Idrisids also established the city of Fez, which became an important center of learning and trade in the Islamic world.
