Icelandic Króna
The Icelandic Króna (ISK) is the official currency of Iceland. It was introduced in 1885, replacing the old Icelandic currency, the "króna" from Denmark. The currency symbol is "kr," and it is subdivided into 100 aurar, although aurar coins are no longer in circulation.
The Icelandic Króna is issued by the Central Bank of Iceland, which manages the country's monetary policy. The currency has experienced fluctuations in value, particularly during the financial crisis of 2008. Today, the Króna is used for everyday transactions and is an essential part of Iceland's economy.
