Ica Valley
The Ica Valley is a prominent agricultural region located in southern Peru. Known for its warm climate and fertile soil, the valley is ideal for growing a variety of crops, including grapes, cotton, and asparagus. The region's irrigation systems, developed by ancient civilizations, continue to support its agricultural productivity today.
In addition to agriculture, the Ica Valley is famous for its Nazca Lines, large geoglyphs etched into the desert floor. These ancient designs, which include various shapes and figures, attract tourists and researchers alike. The valley also serves as a gateway to the nearby Ballestas Islands, known for their rich marine biodiversity.
