Iberian ibex
The Iberian ibex is a wild goat species native to the mountainous regions of the Iberian Peninsula, which includes parts of Spain and Portugal. Known for its impressive curved horns, the Iberian ibex can weigh between 40 to 100 kg and stands about 90 cm tall at the shoulder. It primarily inhabits rocky terrains and steep cliffs, which provide safety from predators.
This species is well-adapted to its environment, with strong hooves that allow it to navigate rugged landscapes. The Iberian ibex is herbivorous, feeding on grasses, shrubs, and other vegetation. Conservation efforts have been implemented to protect its population, which has faced threats from habitat loss and hunting.
