Iban people
The Iban people are an indigenous ethnic group primarily found in Malaysia and Indonesia, particularly in the regions of Sarawak and West Kalimantan. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and intricate weaving. The Iban are also recognized for their historical role as headhunters, a practice that has largely ceased but remains a significant part of their folklore.
Traditionally, the Iban people live in longhouses, which are communal dwellings that can house multiple families. Their economy is largely based on agriculture, with rice being a staple crop. The Iban also engage in hunting and fishing, maintaining a close relationship with their natural environment.
