ISOC
The Internet Society, often referred to as ISOC, is a global nonprofit organization founded in 1992. Its primary mission is to promote the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people. ISOC works to ensure that the Internet remains a platform for innovation and free expression, advocating for policies that support an open and accessible Internet.
ISOC also plays a crucial role in supporting the technical standards of the Internet through its relationship with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The organization engages in various initiatives, including education, capacity building, and community outreach, to foster a better understanding of Internet technologies and their impact on society.
