ICAO Codes
ICAO Codes are four-letter alphanumeric designators assigned to each airport and aerodrome around the world. These codes are established by the International Civil Aviation Organization to ensure consistent identification of locations in aviation. For example, the ICAO Code for Los Angeles International Airport is KLAX.
These codes are used primarily in flight operations, air traffic control, and airline scheduling. Unlike the three-letter IATA Codes, which are more commonly known by travelers, ICAO Codes provide a more precise identification system that includes information about the country and region of the airport.
