Hypersleep
Hypersleep is a theoretical state of suspended animation that allows humans to endure long-duration space travel. In this state, metabolic processes are significantly slowed down, reducing the need for food, water, and oxygen. This concept is often depicted in science fiction, such as in the movie Alien, where crew members are placed in stasis during their journey through space.
The idea behind hypersleep is to minimize the physical and psychological effects of extended space missions. By entering a deep sleep, astronauts could potentially travel vast distances, such as to Mars or beyond, without experiencing the challenges of aging or resource depletion during the journey.
