Hydrus Constellation
The Hydrus Constellation is a small constellation located in the southern sky. It was introduced in the 17th century by the Dutch astronomer Petrus Plancius and is named after the water snake, reflecting its aquatic theme. The constellation is best viewed during the months of January to March.
Hydrus contains several notable stars, including Alpha Hydri, which is the brightest star in the constellation. It also features a few deep-sky objects, such as the NGC 1514 planetary nebula. Hydrus is situated near other constellations like Pavo and Grus, making it easier to locate in the night sky.
