Hydrogen Spectrum
The Hydrogen Spectrum refers to the range of electromagnetic radiation emitted or absorbed by hydrogen atoms. When hydrogen gas is energized, its electrons can jump to higher energy levels. When they return to their original levels, they release energy in the form of light, producing specific wavelengths that appear as distinct lines in a spectrum.
These lines form the Balmer series in the visible range, which includes colors like red, blue, and violet. Each line corresponds to a specific transition of electrons between energy levels, allowing scientists to study the properties of hydrogen and understand fundamental concepts in quantum mechanics.
