Hydra (Mythology)
The Hydra is a serpent-like creature from Greek mythology, known for its multiple heads. According to legend, it lived in the swamps of Lerna and was considered a formidable monster. Each time one of its heads was cut off, two more would grow back in its place, making it nearly impossible to defeat.
The Hydra is famously associated with the hero Heracles (or Hercules), who was tasked with slaying it as one of his twelve labors. To overcome the creature, he used fire to cauterize the necks after decapitating the heads, preventing them from regenerating.
