Huron-Wendat people
The Huron-Wendat people are an Indigenous group originally from the region around the Great Lakes in North America. They are known for their agricultural practices, particularly the cultivation of crops like corn, beans, and squash, often referred to as the "Three Sisters." Their society was organized into clans, and they lived in longhouses, which were large communal dwellings.
Historically, the Huron-Wendat engaged in trade with neighboring tribes and European settlers. They played a significant role in the fur trade during the 17th century. Today, the Huron-Wendat continue to preserve their culture and traditions, with a focus on revitalizing their language and heritage.
