Hundred Days Offensive
The Hundred Days Offensive was a series of military operations during the final months of World War I, starting in August 1918 and ending with the armistice on November 11, 1918. This offensive involved coordinated attacks by the Allied Powers, primarily the British and French forces, against the German Empire. It aimed to break through German defenses and push them back, ultimately leading to the collapse of the German front.
The offensive began with the Battle of Amiens, which marked a significant breakthrough for the Allies. Over the following weeks, a series of successful battles, including the Battle of Arras and the Battle of Saint-Quentin Canal, further weakened German forces. The Hundred Days Offensive is credited with hastening the end of the war and demonstrating the effectiveness of combined arms tactics and coordinated assaults.
