Hukbalahap
The Hukbalahap, or Hukbong Bayan Laban sa Hapon, was a guerrilla group formed in the Philippines during World War II. Initially created to resist the Japanese occupation, it later evolved into a communist-led movement that aimed to address social injustices and land reform issues in the post-war period.
After the war, the Hukbalahap continued to fight against the Philippine government, leading to a series of conflicts known as the Hukbalahap Rebellion. The group was eventually suppressed in the late 1950s, but its legacy influenced future movements for social change in the country.
