Houston Oilers
The Houston Oilers were a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. They were established in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and later joined the National Football League (NFL) when the leagues merged in 1970. The team was known for its distinctive blue and white uniforms and had a passionate fan base.
The Oilers played their home games at Rice Stadium and later at the Astrodome. They achieved notable success in the 1970s and 1980s, making several playoff appearances and winning the AFL championship in 1961 and 1962. The franchise relocated to Tennessee in 1996 and became the Tennessee Titans.
