House Of Councillors
The House of Councillors is the upper house of the National Diet of Japan. It consists of 245 members who serve six-year terms, with half of the seats up for election every three years. The House plays a crucial role in the legislative process, reviewing and amending bills proposed by the lower house, the House of Representatives.
Members of the House of Councillors are elected through a combination of single-member districts and proportional representation. This structure allows for a diverse representation of political parties and interests, contributing to the overall governance of Japan.
