House Liao
House Liao was a ruling dynasty in China that existed from 907 to 1125. Founded by the Khitan people, it was the first dynasty to unify northern China after the fall of the Tang Dynasty. The Liao Dynasty is known for its unique dual administration system, which governed both the Khitan and the Han Chinese populations.
The Liao Dynasty expanded its territory significantly, controlling parts of modern-day Mongolia, northern China, and the Korean Peninsula. It was characterized by a rich culture that blended Khitan traditions with influences from Buddhism and Taoism. The dynasty eventually fell to the Jurchen tribes, leading to the establishment of the Jin Dynasty.
