Homeric epics
The Homeric epics refer to two ancient Greek poems attributed to the poet Homer: the Iliad and the Odyssey. These works are foundational texts of Western literature, composed in dactylic hexameter. The Iliad focuses on the events of the Trojan War, particularly the conflict between the Greek hero Achilles and the Trojan prince Hector.
The Odyssey follows the adventures of Odysseus as he attempts to return home after the war. Both epics explore themes of heroism, fate, and the human condition, while also providing insights into ancient Greek culture and values.
