Holloway Prison
Holloway Prison was a women's prison located in London, England. It opened in 1852 and was known for housing female offenders, including those convicted of serious crimes. The prison was designed to accommodate around 500 inmates and featured various facilities aimed at rehabilitation.
In 2016, Holloway Prison was officially closed due to a decline in the female prison population. The site has since been repurposed for housing and community projects. Its closure marked the end of over 160 years of history as a facility dedicated to the incarceration of women in the UK.
