Hispanic-Serving Institutions
Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) are colleges and universities in the United States that enroll a significant percentage of Hispanic students. To qualify as an HSI, an institution must have at least 25% of its full-time undergraduate enrollment identifying as Hispanic. These institutions aim to provide educational opportunities and support for Hispanic students, helping to increase their access to higher education.
HSIs often receive federal funding to enhance their programs and services, which can include academic support, financial aid, and community engagement initiatives. This funding helps improve the overall educational experience for students and promotes success in their academic and professional endeavors.
