Hindu Epics
The Hindu epics are two ancient texts known as the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. These stories are foundational to Hindu culture and philosophy, exploring themes of duty, righteousness, and the nature of good and evil. The Mahabharata is the longest epic poem in the world, detailing the conflict between two families, the Pandavas and the Kauravas, while the Ramayana narrates the life of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his battle against the demon king Ravana.
Both epics are not just stories; they contain important teachings and moral lessons. They include various characters, such as Krishna in the Mahabharata, who serves as a guide and charioteer, and Hanuman in the Ramayana, who symbolizes devotion and strength. These texts have been retold in numerous forms, influencing art, literature, and religious practices throughout history.
