Himalayan black bears
The Himalayan black bear, also known as the Asian black bear, is a medium-sized bear species found in the mountainous regions of Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. They have a distinctive white crescent-shaped mark on their chest and thick black fur. These bears are primarily herbivorous, feeding on fruits, nuts, and vegetation, but they may also consume insects and small animals.
Himalayan black bears are typically solitary, except during mating season or when a mother is raising her cubs. They are excellent climbers, often found in trees, and are most active during the early morning and late afternoon. Their habitat is threatened by deforestation and poaching, making conservation efforts essential for their survival.
