Hilbert's Problems
In 1900, mathematician David Hilbert presented a list of 23 unsolved problems at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Paris. These problems aimed to guide future research in mathematics and cover various fields, including number theory, algebra, and geometry. Hilbert's Problems have significantly influenced the development of modern mathematics.
Over the years, some of these problems have been solved, while others remain open. Notably, the Riemann Hypothesis and P vs NP problem are among the most famous unsolved problems that originated from Hilbert's list. The challenges posed by these problems continue to inspire mathematicians worldwide.
