Hikawa Maru
The Hikawa Maru is a Japanese ocean liner that was launched in 1929. Originally designed for passenger and cargo transport, it served the NYK Line and was known for its luxurious amenities. The ship was primarily used on the trans-Pacific route between Japan and the United States.
During World War II, the Hikawa Maru was repurposed as a hospital ship, providing medical care to wounded soldiers. After the war, it returned to commercial service but was eventually retired in 1960. Today, the ship is preserved as a museum in Yokohama, Japan, showcasing its rich history and maritime heritage.
