High-Wing
A "High-Wing" refers to an aircraft design where the wings are mounted high on the fuselage. This configuration provides better visibility for pilots and passengers, as well as improved stability during flight. High-wing aircraft are often used for cargo transport and bush flying due to their ability to operate from rough airstrips.
Common examples of high-wing aircraft include the Cessna 172 and the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter. These planes are favored for their spacious interiors and ease of loading and unloading cargo. The high-wing design also helps to keep the wings clear of ground obstacles during takeoff and landing.
