Hickory Trees
Hickory trees are deciduous hardwoods belonging to the genus Carya. They are known for their strong, dense wood, which is often used in furniture making and for crafting tools. Hickory trees can grow up to 100 feet tall and are recognized by their compound leaves, which typically have five to seven leaflets.
These trees produce edible nuts that are enjoyed by wildlife and humans alike. The nuts are rich in protein and healthy fats, making them a nutritious snack. Hickory trees thrive in well-drained soils and are commonly found in the eastern and central regions of the United States.
