Herodes Atticus Theatre
The Herodes Atticus Theatre, also known as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, is an ancient stone theatre located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Built in 161 AD by the wealthy Roman senator Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife, it was designed for music performances and could seat around 5,000 spectators.
The theatre features a semi-circular seating arrangement and a grand stage, showcasing impressive acoustics. It has been restored and is still in use today, hosting various cultural events, including the Athens Festival, making it a significant landmark in both history and modern Greek culture.
