Herod's Gate
Herod's Gate is one of the eight gates in the ancient walls of Jerusalem. Located in the northeastern part of the city, it connects the Old City to the Mount of Olives and the surrounding neighborhoods. The gate is named after King Herod, who ruled during the time of the Second Temple.
The current structure of Herod's Gate dates back to the Ottoman period, featuring a distinctive pointed arch and intricate stonework. It serves as a passage for both pedestrians and vehicles, providing access to various historical and religious sites within the Old City, including the Church of St. Anne and the Pool of Bethesda.
