Hermann von Wied
Hermann von Wied was a German prince and a prominent figure in the early Protestant Reformation. Born in 1477, he became the Archbishop of Cologne in 1515. He was known for his attempts to reform the church and promote Lutheranism, which led to conflicts with the Catholic Church and other political leaders.
His efforts to implement reforms were met with resistance, and he eventually lost his position in 1546. Hermann's legacy is significant in the context of the Reformation, as he represented the struggle between traditional Catholic practices and the emerging Protestant beliefs during a transformative period in European history.
