Hercílio Luz Bridge
The Hercílio Luz Bridge is a suspension bridge located in Florianópolis, Brazil. It spans the Hercílio Luz Strait, connecting the island of Santa Catarina to the mainland. Completed in 1926, it was the longest suspension bridge in South America at the time and is an important symbol of the city.
The bridge is approximately 1,200 meters long and features a distinctive design with large towers and a central span. After being closed for several years due to safety concerns, it underwent extensive restoration and was reopened to pedestrians in 2019, allowing visitors to enjoy its historical significance and stunning views.
