Hepatic Duct
The hepatic duct is a vital part of the human digestive system. It is a tube that carries bile, a digestive fluid produced by the liver, from the liver to the gallbladder and small intestine. Bile helps in the digestion of fats and is essential for nutrient absorption.
There are two main hepatic ducts: the right and left hepatic ducts, which drain bile from the respective lobes of the liver. These ducts merge to form the common hepatic duct, which then connects to the cystic duct from the gallbladder and the common bile duct leading to the small intestine.
