Henry VI of Germany
Henry VI of Germany was a Holy Roman Emperor who reigned from 1190 until his death in 1197. He was born in 1165 and was the son of Frederick I Barbarossa. Henry VI's reign was marked by his efforts to consolidate power in Italy and strengthen the imperial authority over the German princes.
Henry VI was also known for his marriage to Constance of Sicily, which aimed to unite the German and Sicilian crowns. His rule faced challenges, including conflicts with the papacy and internal disputes among the nobility, ultimately leading to a turbulent and short reign.
