Constance of Sicily
Constance of Sicily was a medieval queen born around 1154, the daughter of Roger II of Sicily and Elvira of Castile. She became the queen consort of Henry VI, Holy Roman Emperor and played a significant role in the political landscape of her time. Her marriage helped to strengthen ties between the Kingdom of Sicily and the Holy Roman Empire.
After her husband's death in 1197, Constance became the regent for her son, Frederick II, who would later become one of the most notable emperors in European history. Her reign was marked by efforts to maintain stability in Sicily and the empire during a tumultuous period.
