Henry Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk
Henry Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk (c. 1540–1572), was an English nobleman and politician during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. He was the son of Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk and Mary FitzAlan, linking him to prominent English aristocracy. Henry was known for his involvement in court politics and held various positions, including serving as a member of the Privy Council.
In 1557, he was created the 1st Earl of Suffolk. His marriage to Catherine Grey, the sister of Lady Jane Grey, further solidified his status. Despite his noble lineage, Howard faced political challenges and was eventually imprisoned for his involvement in plots against the crown.
