Henry Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk
Henry Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk (1517–1572), was a prominent English nobleman during the Tudor period. He was the son of Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk and played a significant role in the political landscape of England. As a member of the Howard family, he was involved in various court intrigues and was a cousin to Mary, Queen of Scots.
In 1554, Henry was made the Duke of Norfolk, becoming one of the highest-ranking nobles in England. He was known for his ambition and desire to restore the Catholic faith in England. However, his involvement in plots against Queen Elizabeth I ultimately led to his execution for treason.
