Henry Bourchier, 1st Earl of Essex
Henry Bourchier, 1st Earl of Essex (c. 1400–1483), was an English nobleman and a prominent figure during the late medieval period. He was the son of William Bourchier, 1st Count of Eu, and inherited the title of Earl of Essex in 1461. Henry played a significant role in the Wars of the Roses, supporting the Yorkist faction and serving in various military campaigns.
As a loyal supporter of King Edward IV, Henry Bourchier was appointed to several important positions, including the Lord High Treasurer. He was also involved in the governance of England and held significant lands and influence, contributing to the political landscape of his time.
