Henri de Montmorency
Henri de Montmorency was a French nobleman born in 1591, known for his role as a military leader during the early 17th century. He was the son of the Duke of Montmorency and became the Duke himself after his father's death. Henri was a prominent figure in the conflicts between the French crown and the Huguenots, a group of French Protestants.
In 1632, Montmorency was involved in a rebellion against the royal authority of King Louis XIII. His opposition led to his capture and subsequent execution, marking a significant moment in the struggle between the monarchy and the nobility in France. His death symbolized the decline of noble power in the face of centralized royal authority.
