Henri de Guise
Henri de Guise, also known as the Duke of Guise, was a prominent French nobleman born in 1550. He was a leading figure in the French Wars of Religion, which were conflicts between Catholics and Protestants in France during the late 16th century. Guise was known for his strong Catholic beliefs and played a significant role in the Catholic League, which sought to oppose Protestant influence.
Guise's political ambitions led to his involvement in various power struggles, including his rivalry with King Henry III of France. His actions contributed to the instability of the French monarchy, culminating in his assassination in 1588. His death marked a turning point in the conflicts of the time.
