Henri Dufour
Henri Dufour was a Swiss general and engineer, born on January 10, 1787, in Geneva. He is best known for his role in the Swiss Army during the mid-19th century, particularly for his leadership in the Sonderbund War of 1847. Dufour was instrumental in unifying Switzerland and promoting a sense of national identity.
In addition to his military career, Dufour was also a prominent cartographer. He created detailed maps of Switzerland, which contributed to the country's geographical knowledge.
