Hemophilia Treatment
Hemophilia treatment primarily involves replacing the missing clotting factors in the blood. This is often done through regular infusions of clotting factor concentrates, which can be derived from human plasma or produced using recombinant technology. Patients may receive these treatments on a scheduled basis or as needed to control bleeding episodes.
In addition to factor replacement, patients are educated on how to manage their condition, including recognizing signs of bleeding and avoiding activities that could lead to injury. Supportive therapies, such as physical therapy, may also be recommended to help maintain joint health and mobility, reducing the risk of bleeding in the joints.
