Helmet Therapy
Helmet Therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to correct certain types of head shape deformities in infants, such as plagiocephaly and brachycephaly. This therapy involves the use of a custom-fitted helmet that gently reshapes the baby's skull over time. The helmet is typically worn for 23 hours a day and is adjusted periodically as the child grows.
The treatment is most effective when started between the ages of 4 to 12 months, as this is when a baby's skull is still soft and malleable. Pediatricians often recommend Helmet Therapy after assessing the child's head shape and ruling out other underlying issues.
